Hello, Fellow Airstreamers!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Everyone!
I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful holiday season. We officially closed out our 2017 scheduled events with the Christmas luncheon on December 9th at the home of the Puryears. There were 29 people in attendance at the luncheon. We also had six rigs camping at The Barnyard Campground in Lexington for the weekend. It goes without saying there was plenty of fun, food and fellowship at the luncheon. We are thankful for all who attended and missed those who were not able to attend for one reason or another.
Our Club will start off the year 2018 with a luncheon on January 20th at Silver Bay in Simpsonville. I want to take this opportunity to encourage our members to attend. You are really missing a good time and we miss seeing you as well. Hopefully, we will have good attendance and get the year started off on a strong, positive note. Also, do not forget our first rally of the year will be held at The Barnyard in February. The dates are February 9th, 10th and 11th. This will be basically a no-host rally, but, not to worry because I am sure we will come up with something that we can do as a group. The meeting facility at The Barnyard is being
expanded so it, more than likely, will not be available to us, hence, the no-host rally. Speaking of rallies, do not forget about our March rally to be held in York. “Silver in the City” will be held in York, March 9 – 11 and to our knowledge it will be the first urban air type rally in our area and possibly even the Region 3 area. I know there is a lot of excitement surrounding this rally and rightfully so! We will talk more about this rally at the luncheon in January, as it is important to get a good number on who will attend the rally.
I hope everyone is anxious to get the 2018 rally season started. I can hardly wait to go to Lake Wateree, Palmetto Cove, Tom Johnson in Marion, NC and the Region 3 Rally in Myrtle Beach. It is going to be a fun year and we should all strive to attend as many rallies as possible. It would be really nice to set some records for number of attendees at our rallies and also pick up some new members along the way. It is real easy to stand still and even easier, yet, to regress. We need to work hard to move forward with our Club in 2018. The year 2017 was a good year, let’s make 2018 a great year! Thank you for all you do for our Club at the local and international level.
We look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future. Safe travels to you all and we will see you around the next bend in the road.
Terry and Annie
