We had 20 people attend, including a couple from Ontario, Canada in their Airstream Basecamp, who were passing thru on their way south. One photo shows multiple generations of Airstreams – Motorhome, vintage trailer, new trailer and the Basecamp. Everyone enjoyed the last camping rally of the year, we had good food and beautiful cool Fall weather. The campground looked great with lots of updates. At the business meeting, we voted on a tentative name for the March rally in York – Silver in the City.
Janice gave us an update on the Founder’s Lounge – the park has made significant improvements in the Lounge and is going to make it the history center for the park – which directly impacts the unit since the park was created as an Airstream only park. It will be dedicated as the Founders Lounge next year. Photos from the early scrapbooks will be displayed, along with the tablecloth that was signed by the founding members, and the unit president’s photos that are currently hanging in the dining hall. The lounge kitchen will also get some upgraded equipment and new furniture and it will become a more useful facility for smaller rallies.
The rally closed out with a Sunday morning worship service lead by Paul Welch, with a timely sermon on Patriotism. (Sat was Veteran’s Day.)
